2020 – JANUARY
Happy New Year!!
AQUARIUS & Aquarius Rising
Health is everything Aquarius. You don’t have to be a body builder or marathon runner, even stick to a strict diet to be healthy. This year it may be helpful to look at health in terms of your emotional state, the quality of your relationships, whether or not you feel safe, secure and warm wherever you lay your head. Your job too, seems up for re-evaluation in terms of whether or not it contributes to a healthy outlook on life. Is your job fulfilling? Do you like your co-workers?
After the doors of 2020 have opened, hopefully it becomes increasingly obvious that working towards a balanced lifestyle is high on the priority list. That is one that includes fostering what is of real value in regard to mind, body and soul. And hopefully the opening of this horoscope doesn’t sound ominous. The thing is you have a host of planets marching through your twelfth house of the hidden suggesting there is a lot going on in the back of your mind.
The good news is, you will have cosmic support, a lift of spirit as Mars enters Sagittarius on January 3rd. This added boost of energy can be of great benefit. In order to take full advantage, you’ll have to rise up and run perhaps joining a group, make your presence known in the community or make an effort to connect with coworkers. Networking, meeting new people and reconnecting with old friends is actually good for your health at the moment.
Jupiter as well, will act in support of plans to improve situations that have perhaps knocked the wind out you. However, it is one of the five planets moving through your twelfth house. In this placement Jupiter still operates quite well though– like a guardian angel watching over you it whispers the wisest of words. When there is planetary activity in the twelfth house it encourages drawing inwards, wanting to spend more time in solitude. You can see then why having Jupiter on your side, where it will be until December 2020, is indeed a blessing.
Moving onto the main astrological events set to shape 2020. the Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on January 10th and the much talked about Saturn, Pluto conjunction on the 12th can really put the pressure on. If you suffer from migraines you can expect to have a few episodes this month. Best case scenario is you end up feeling a little burnt out. Remember, socializing, keeping up appearances can help keep your inner fire burning bright.
That said, the Lunar Eclipse and Saturn, Pluto conjunction will be within a few degrees of each other in opposition. In order to describe how this influence is likely to manifest it is important to take a quick look into the past.
In 2008 Pluto crept into Capricorn taking you on a depth dive into your inner world. The effects would have been noticeable on some level but may not have immediately triggered any major event. It is possible of course, but Pluto moves slowly. Its aim is to transform a particularly area of life completely, inching over only a few degrees per year. In this case, 2008 marked the beginning of what can be described as a subconscious purge. Over the years, then, you have likely become stronger, more fearless in the face of the darker side of life. Pluto is extremely inquisitive and obsessive. When Pluto’s sights are set on investigating a matter (the deepest part of your psyche in this case) it simply won’t stop until it’s dug up the absolute truth. In other words, you have been, are still in the process of that purge. On the plus side, Pluto is finishing up its long tour in Capricorn preparing an exit in 2023. You have done a great deal of work Aquarius but considering this placement you may not give yourself enough credit – yet. As mentioned, Pluto moves slowly so its transformative effects are typically only noticed in retrospect.
Saturn has a slightly different agenda. While it is similar to Pluto in that it encourages determination, demands slow thorough progress Saturn’s aim is to rebuild, restructure and reframe one’s attitude to their responsibility in life. Responsibility is the key word here. Since December 2017 Saturn has provoked a need to reset your sense of self in a healthier more natural-to-you kind of rhythm. Engagement in that process has undoubtedly required more time alone. How can you pick up on your own heartbeat when distracted by the hustle bustle of the world outside? It isn’t easy unless you have already spent a good number of years practicing the art of meditation.
As Saturn & Pluto join on January 12th then, there is a feeling of letting one life go (noisy business if you think about it) while hanging smack dab in the middle of learning a new way of being. It can be like learning a new song, and a new instrument with the only example of the tune set at too low a volume. The more you can find time to chill, quiet your mind the louder the music. If you can do that, you’ll pick up the beat and be dancing to your own song in far less time than you would have imagined.
The Lunar Eclipse in Cancer carries much the same sentiment. However, health and work are emphasized. It may be useful to look back at events during the eclipses in 2018 and 2019 -also part of the Capricorn/Cancer series. Each Eclipse spans an influence of six months. Every ‘shift’ that occurs feeds into the type of experience likely to manifest during the subsequent eclipse. Here is the list of eclipse dates in this series.
July 12th, 2018 – Solar Eclipse in Cancer
January 5th, 2019 – Solar Eclipse in Capricorn
July 2nd, 2019 – Solar Eclipse in Cancer
July 16th, 2019 – Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn
December 25th, 2019 – Solar Eclipse in Capricorn
There are three more (dates below), including the one on January 10th remaining before the North Node shifts into Gemini on June 5th, 2020. (Read more about the Gemini/Sagittarius Eclipses in June 2020’s forecast):
January 10th, 2020 – Lunar Eclipse in Cancer
June 5th, 2020 – Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius
June 20th, 2020 – Solar Eclipse in Cancer
July 5th, 2020 – Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn
There are other planetary happenings in January, that, admittedly may be overshadowed by the influences we have covered so far. However, they are worth mentioning as they will soften some of the tougher spots AND portend exciting changes further down the road into 2020.
On January 11th Uranus, your modern ruler turns Direct in Taurus! This will add an extra zing to your zap Aquarius. As it currently resides in your domestic sector this is the kind of energy that inspires you to be quick on your heels and out the door. To be honest, Uranus is considered unpredictable, inciting changes that can literally pick you up off your feet, meaning, home moves or provoking the necessity of being away from home. On one hand, it is a really good thing as mentioned at the beginning of this forecast. However, at times you may really want nothing more than to settle in for a quiet moment at home. Still, by and large it seems Uranus’ forward motion between now and August 2020 is just the right kind of cosmic medicine you’ll need.
More good news…lovely Venus will tour your second house of earnings, in Pisces on January 13th. She will remain here until the first week of February. Finances are likely to be looking good at this time and if you were hoping for a raise? It’s a great time to plant that seed.
Last, but not least, Mercury, the Sun and a New Moon in your sign on the 24th will bring a welcome boost in confidence. It is always a benefit to have planets moving in your signature sign! Hang tight then, Aquarius, the cosmic waves rushing through January do offer support when you need it and Jupiter, your guardian angel will ensure you cruise over any rough spots with ease.
