TAURUS January 2020

2020 – JANUARY

Happy New Year!!

TAURUS & Taurus Rising

The need, the want, the overwhelming desire to step out into the world, expand your horizons and Do. Something. Different. couldn’t be greater as the New Year kicks off Taurus.  Jupiter, the luckiest planet of them, entered your ninth house of travel, high ideals and education on December 3rd.  This has piqued your curiosity, eliciting a profound opening up in attempt to understand the higher principles governing life in the grand scheme of things.

To be fair, Jupiter’s life expanding, abundance-making qualities may be subdued under the restrictions of Capricorn, where it will remain for most of 2020.  Still, the urge to achieve, experience, a life outside the norm will course through you veins all the same.  You aren’t usually one for inciting ‘far out’ changes – risky moves that threaten whatever safe and secure foundation you’ve already built for yourself.  And so, in that way, you’ll have a natural tolerance, more patience when it comes to using Jupiter’s vibes to your benefit.  Put another way – it isn’t likely you’ll push too far too fast throwing caution to the wind as many of the other zodiac members this year.

It will be easier for you to accept certain restrictions as par for the course, a good thing that will help anchor you when the winds of change blow.  Let me emphasize ‘easier’ Taurus.  While you do have an astounding amount of patience most of the time you are not immune to bouts of irritation when you don’t get what you want.  So, that stubborn side of you won’t simply dissolve in light of this seize the day attitude you’re brandishing.

Speaking of impatience and throwing caution to the wind fly-by-the-seat of your pants Mars will cruise through Sagittarius on January 3rd until mid-February.  It seems your first line of business will be to deal with your finances.  Investments, loans, taxes, debts are either in need of re-management or simply require your attention.  Big dreams often cost big money.  It too should be noted, if it’s not already obvious, that Mars & Sagittarius are fire-starters.  Both bring about a need to do things immediately.  Impatience is their hallmark.  Also, while it is finances are mainly at the core of your drive power struggles evident in your relationships can equally inspire the need to transform your situation.  Either way there seems to be a take no prisoners mentality present.  This may be partly due to Uranus’ arrival in your sign during the spring of May 2018.  We will return to that topic in a moment.

As you can see the New Year does start your motor from the very first week of January. During the second week,  on January 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th several other major planetary happenings are set to stir your world even more.

First, on January 10th a Lunar Eclipse in the sign of Cancer sets aglow.  While all eclipses in this series have been significant this one shines dangerously close to heavy hitters Saturn & Pluto.  The Sun is within a few degrees of these two.  The peak point of this profound Full Moon is within hours of opposing them.  And so, in order to flesh out the possible effects this eclipse will have understanding the path of Pluto & Saturn is a must.

Pluto & Saturn, both in Capricorn, have been inching closer and closer together for most of 2019 yet have not shared the same degree. They are closer than ever and will join forces on January 12th – just a few days after the Eclipse. The pressure to re-evaluate your perspective on life has, in a word been intense.

In 2008, when Pluto first entered Capricorn you may have felt that there wasn’t a choice but to stare difficult aspects of life in the eye.  If you didn’t experience it then, over the years until now it wasn’t likely something you could escape.  Perhaps you have experienced the death of someone close, happened upon new information that altered your concept of reality, in essence learned more about how life works in a reality-bites kind of way.

Whatever the case tensions ensued around how you communicate with others especially siblings, parents even close friends.  It may also have been challenging to form a routine, a way of life around an ever-changing way of thinking about the world.  Pluto has been of some benefit though, despite near constantly unsettling your level of understanding.  The need to know more, to know the truth has built up a fearlessness in you – something that cannot be had without experiencing an intimate connection with your fears.  It is par for the course for all of us.  Pluto is one of those planets that isn’t personal in nature and yet is known to catalyze deep and thorough transformations of our being – psychologically, emotionally, even physically.  Its position in your chart is set on transforming your understanding Taurus.  In short, the old cliché ‘the truth will set you free’ is exactly what Pluto’s message has been.

Saturn is of a different kind.  It speaks of responsibility, real world hum drum stuff that works as a solution, a way to keep you grounded in materially world reality.  In December 2017 Saturn crossed into Capricorn.  All and all a good placement.  Saturn is comfortable under the influence of Capricorn.  The main goal, so to speak, of this influence has been to take responsibility for how your life is structured.  Time management, education in regards to how to build, sustain yourself in practical terms – basically taking back a sense of authority for yourself has been key.  You may have found yourself in the role of teacher, mentor since 2018.  Perhaps you are now in the process of gaining valuable experience that will, eventually, play a major part in constructing how you will reshape your life in the near future.  As a side note Saturn will move into Aquarius this year suggesting you are pretty close to reaching a milestone moment career-wise or towards a set goal.

That is the gist of Saturn & Pluto.  And so how do they influence the eclipse on January 10th?  What does it mean when they finally join forces on January 12th?  Other than carrying on with what has been expressed you are looking at more than a few endings Taurus.  A sense of closure is on the horizon.  Your mind has changed and you are more aware of the truth now.  In other words, your ability to tolerate anything that no longer jives with your view of the world and what you want from it will be at an all-time low.  Whatever type of ending you experience this month is one that has been a long time coming.  It isn’t good and it isn’t bad. A new reality must form, must manifest itself to be in sync with who you have become – that is a being now much closer to their authentic selves than at any other time.

This too, has been the urging of the Cancer/Capricorn series of Eclipses since 2018.  Looking back to track how events have unfolded can be eye opening.  Each Eclipse has a span of influence that lasts six months.  Every ‘shift’ that occurs feeds into the type of experience that is likely to manifest during the subsequent eclipse.  Here is the list of eclipse dates in this series.

July 12th, 2018 – Solar Eclipse in Cancer
January 5th, 2019 – Solar Eclipse in Capricorn
July 2nd, 2019 – Solar Eclipse in Cancer
July 16th, 2019 – Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn
December 25th, 2019 – Solar Eclipse in Capricorn

There are three more (dates below), including the one on January 10th remaining before the North Node shifts into Gemini on June 5th, 2020.  (Read more about the Gemini/Sagittarius Eclipses in June 2020’s forecast):

January 10th, 2020 – Lunar Eclipse in Cancer
June 5th, 2020 – Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius
June 20th, 2020 – Solar Eclipse in Cancer
July 5th, 2020 – Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn

Onto other things…we are still only part way through the month and yes, there is more.  On January 11th Uranus will station direct This has been one heck of an influence to handle well Taurus – namely because it is in your sign!

The urge to be you, at any cost has taken on new meaning.  Uranus is a sparky one, a rebel, a glutton for everything and anything that shakes up the status quo.  In this case, as it occupies your first house of identity. However you have viewed yourself or however others have come to know you will be changing in rather unpredictable ways.  This kind of shake up has been happening since May 2018 when Uranus first entered your sign.  It took a break, backsliding into Aries for the late half of 2018 and early 2019.  It returned to stay for the long haul (7 years) in Taurus on March 6th, 2019.  Since then, you may have noticed that you’ve been behaving somewhat outside of yourself.

Since Uranus is only in the first few degrees of Taurus this is just the beginning.  Life will take on a more exciting feel – that is if you are willing to let go of the old you sooner rather than later.  The thing is most born under a sun in Taurus are often trepidatious about change.  They like to keep safe, secure and sensible.  Indeed, the feeling of behaving outside of yourself is when you’ll know Uranus has sets its sights directly on you.  Keep in mind that everyone’s birth chart is different – literally no two are the same.  Depending on the exact degree and arrangement of all the planets in your chart influences can hit you at different times.  Sun sign forecasts can only account for the placement of the sun in a particular sign usually without regard for the specific degree.  I would have to write 30 horoscopes per sign in order to that.  That said, still the general influence of Uranus will undoubtedly be felt on some level.

Uranus has been in a retrograde phase since August – meaning its power to provoke change has not been as strong.  As it awakens, preparing to move with increased power between January 11th and mid-August 2020 then, hang on.  More of you will be shining through in ways you may have never before imagined.  Yes, that can be unsettling – again, you do like to be in control of how you present yourself.  But that is just it Taurus.  You will see more of yourself – at times an overwhelming conundrum.  You really have to know what you are dealing with before you can master its flow and that looks like a major theme in 2020. Creative juices are likely to be flowing freely and the exercising of new daring approaches are but of a few of the characteristics that will help you through.

Towards the middle and end of January lovely Venus will move into dreamy Pisces, quick-witted Mercury, the Sun and a New Moon in Aquarius provide some breathing room for what can be a rather enlightening month Taurus.

Venus moves into Pisces on January 13th to stay until February 8th ensuring a sense of harmony with co-workers, friends new and old.  Social media endeavours are also likely to do quite well under this influence.

Mercury and the Sun’s entry into Aquarius on the 16th and 30th, respectively, can keep you focused on long term goals.  This influence can breed a touch of dispassion – the kind necessary to remain objective and so unphased by unnecessary emotional drama.  In turn, you will be better able to see things the way they – a wonderful asset.

Lastly the New Moon in Aquarius on the 24th is bound to reveal 1.a part of you that has either been missing or never explored and 2. a gateway of understanding that can draw out what the next steps should be in order to realize your hopes and dreams – in a practical sense no less.

Needless to say, 2020 looks like it will be starting off on good foot Taurus.  Of course, it all depends upon how well you can adapt to the changing cosmic rhythms.  It really is true that doors must close before new ones can open.  And it seems you are standing square in the face of more than few doors Taurus.
