Saturn Jul.-Dec.2025

SATURNKeeping it together for the second half of 2025...

It’s been such a strange year.  Where to begin in terms of how to get a handle on managing life so far…? Let’s start with the direct station of Saturn at 12’41’ Pisces on Nov.15.2024.

At the time we were still dealing with the tensions brought on by the Jupiter Saturn squares in mutable signs, Gemini and Pisces – exact on Aug.19th and Dec.24th 2024.

During those last few months of 2024, and well into 2025 (adding the influence of the Mars retrograde and other planetary happenings) an uncomfortable grip of awareness took hold.   It incited a need to rewrite the rules of our existence.

Every time we explored a better way to do things or hunted for viable detours around what didn’t suit our fancy, our psyche (and events in our lives) conjured up obstacles.  In effect, we were often left feeling deflated.  What didn’t work out according to plan, so to speak, rendered us too heavy on the inside to fully lift off again.  This, despite knowing damn well we had the will AND desire to break out of a hazy rut.

In any case, more than a few ideas, clarifications of wants and needs were born during this time.  So, there may have been small wins, some good work done in effort to build a new and improved reality.

As of the final Saturn Jupiter square on Jun.15th this year in cardinal signs Aries & Cancer, we’ve been encouraged to put it all back on the table for re-evaluation.   Maybe our initial attempts at making a change, adjusting our lives for greater comfort have, ironically, taken us too far out of our comfort zone.

And so currently, long separated from Jupiter’s square to Saturn, we are being tested on what we’ve managed to accomplish. Do we, can we push ahead, build upon where we find ourselves now?

It is challenging to barrel full steam ahead with the attitude that we have fallen short of our expectations.  And that feeling lingers with Saturn in a rather weak position in Aries AND next to Neptune.

Although, I think Saturn’s retrograde phase (having stationed on Jul.13th) can bring a much-needed slow down -to look at the bare bones of our proposed road ahead.   It affords us time, practically by cosmic decree, to take another look at what has transpired. In short, it is time to update the blueprints.  No doubt, our perspective has changed since the last half of 2024 and the first half of 2025.  So where is our head at now?

The Mercury retrograde phase, that began on July 18th can help us on that front. It provides a nudge out of old mindsets. In turn, leading us to better clarify our core motivations.

The meeting of Mars and the South Node in Virgo adds to this (but for some it’s more of a push than a nudge).

It has been a struggle to tap into those deeper recesses – the heart of our motivations during the first half of the year.  Like the strike of a giant match. It takes pressure to transform friction to flame.  And while we are likely to remember the long drag, and initial strike to our hearts, there is no denying it started something.  That something can’t just be snuffed out – even if it’s just a tiny glow or smoky mess.

Keeping with Saturn’s role now and in the months ahead…

Saturn returns to Pisces on September 1st drifting back to 25 degrees before stationing direct on Nov.27th.  There can be something of a restart, a reawakened will of the heart that reintroduces the dreams, desires & aspirations that failed to fully manifest between late 2024 and the first half of 2025.  You could say we will be in process of a more thoughtful re-modeling – where focus on process instead of product cultivates greater peace of mind.

And so, at the time of Saturn’s entry to Pisces we would be wise to cultivate a patient, calm approach.  A certain amount of grace will be necessary to tend the fire rather than fan the flames.

Saturn’s path through the remainder of 2025, especially the last week of September is notable.  Mercury opposes Saturn on the 17th and a partial Lunar Eclipse in Virgo sits in opposition to the Sun & Moon.  Growing pains persist as we work on making adjustments-to get our heads on straight.   The need to maintain obligations, securing life as it is, while allowing room for a new life forming to arrange itself in our mind's eye.

Put another way, we are tempted (even taunted) to let go completely for a life that we aren’t sure is manageable yet.  Just how much faith do you have is THE big question.

Drawing towards Saturn’s direct Station on November 27th it seems our will strengthens. -a boost in determination to hold on.  A good thing as it prepares us for several squares to Saturn in December.

During the last month of 2025 the pressure mounts to grab the wheel.   Make the necessary changes.  It is uncomfortable. It tests our resolve.  The image that comes to mind is that of manning a ship at sea - choppy waves, blowing winds. A higher degree of alertness is required to steer well.  And the ease and grace with which we move through depends on our willingness to adapt.
